Sales figures are based on the Billboard European Top 100 Albums chart, compiled from national sales charts in 18 European countries: United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Portugal, Hungary, Grecce, Czech Republic. The most successful album of 2010 was The Fame by Lady Gaga with sales around 2 million copies. Lady Gaga became the second artist topped the year-end chart for two years in a row with the same album. The first artist was Michael Jackson with Bad in 1987 and 1988.
